For Savannahians, Tybee Island was more possessively “Savannah beach”. Your arrival to Tybee by land will be through downtown Savannah. However, the island proudly honors its independent spirit and colonial name — Tybee Island, Georgia.
Directions for your pilgrimage to the Atlantic Ocean and the Sunny South beaches of Tybee Island are below. The Lighthouse Inn’s beach cottage is located in the quiet of historic Fort Screven’s north beach.

Exit I-16 into downtown Savannah (Montogomery Street).
At Liberty Street, turn right.
