December 31 & January 1: New Year’s Fireworks & Polar Bear Plunge

Get away to Tybee Island, Georgia for New Year’s Eve fireworks on the beach. It takes place midnight on December 31, 2012 near Tybee Island Pier.

Then on New Year’s day — January 1, 2013 — take part or spectate waterside in Tybee Island’s popular and zany New Year’s Day tradition — the Polar Bear Plunge on the first day of the new year. Here’s a link to SavannahNow.com photos and story of last year’s 70-degree weather.

New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are popular times to be on Tybee Island.  We do recommend that you book your reservations early, and that you’ll choose to stay at Lighthouse Inn located amid the quiet of North Beach on Tybee Island, Georgia.
