Backstory: Notably a pivotal fort held by Yankee and Confederate armies during the American Civil War (1861-1865), Fort Pulaski’s bold brick presence and Cockspur Island’s serene coastal setting make the 19th Century military fort a popular movie location spot. Movies filmed at Fort Pulaski include Glory, The Ordeal of Dr. Mudd, The General’s Daughter, The Conspirators, and Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies.
